JURAVINSKI Hospital Redevelopment
This project redeveloped the existing Henderson Hospital (now Juravinski) east of the 90 Wing. Included in the program were expanded areas for diagnostic imaging, surgery, emergency, coronary care, and clinics for ambulatory care/diabetes and pre-operative assessment. Also included in the project were patient care clinics for hematology, palliative care and oncology as well as support services including laboratories, pharmacy, meeting space, customer services, and human resources.
Apart from being a complex program, a key aspect of the design was the phasing strategy for the construction of the addition, which included temporary facilities for the hospital to maintain uninterrupted operation throughout the construction process.
