Hamilton Place Concrete Facade Restoration

This project included 4 exterior renovation sub-projects around the Hamilton Place / Convention Centre complex: Hamilton Place concrete facade restoration; Main St / Summers Lane sunken entrance renovations; McNab St Stage Door entrance renovations

For the Hamilton Convention Centre, approximately 28,000 SF of concrete was chiseled off the 1970’s concrete facade, patched and coated with a water repellent treatment custom coloured to resemble the original concrete finish. Extruded aluminum sills were inserted under existing windows to shed water away from the facade. The result is a building envelope that will be good for at least another 40 years for this important group of civic building s in downtown Hamilton.
